What People Think About Us
Be Afraid is a great book for kids. My daughter who is twelve enjoyed reading it for herself and to her cousins who are 8 and 9.
A good variety of short stories which are both funny and ofcourse scary (but not too much!). I’d definitely recommend this book.
Sandra Phillips
I loved this book and volume 1because of the funniness of it and it was not too scary for older children. There are 14 amazing stories all by an amazing author, about quite random things but all brilliant.
I am 8 years old and I read this book in an afternoon with great interest and amazement.
Oliver Brooks
A fantastic collection of original age appropriate scary children’s stories. Me and my 9 year old son enjoyed this book from start to finishi. The author has a way a weaving positive messages into the right balance of creepy and scary.
The messages within the stories make this relatable to the point you can actually picture yourself in the story. This was particularly the case for us with The Popcorn Animals and MYPhone.
Some children may actually find some of the things they worry about, both real and make believe, spelled out in this book and its why I’d recommend it so highly. Reading about these things can make them less scary. Especially in this case with how the author positions and exposes relevant fears, turning them into positive outcomes and learnings.
Hope to read more from this author in the future!
